P/T ......FOOD EXPEDITOR (Runner)......$13.00 per hour

Overview

Set up and maintain the expeditors line to high quality standards; assisting in various other kitchen duties as requested by the Chef

Essential Functions

  • Running food to other locations in timely manner

  • Prepare and store raw and cooked products properly

  • Keeping expeditor area clean and free of debris and food

  • Accurately handle, control and rotate product

  • Assist in a variety of kitchen functions from washing dishes to sophisticated preparation techniques

  • Keep kitchen prep areas, floors, storerooms and walk-ins clean, organized and sanitized

Secondary Functions

  • Maintain all par levels as designated by Chef

  • Operating and maintaining all equipment / tools

  • Flexible to work within any area of Food & Beverage

  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

Knowledge of health regulations

Performance Standards

  • Meet all regulations pertaining to health, safety and personal hygiene in accordance with City, State, and Federal laws

  • Comply with Company / Department policies, including attendance, smoke breaks and cell phone usage.

  • Must not present a direct threat to health, safety or the welfare of fellow employees or others

  • Treat all guests, vendors and employees with courtesy, respect, fairness and consistency

  • Professional in appearance, grooming and behavior

  • Practice proper food handling and sanitation

  • Ability to interpret and complete all communications received and submitted

  • Respond in a timely manner to all guests and employees

  • Report to the Supervisor any broken or non-working equipment

Working Environment

  • Potential exposure to outdoor / indoor elements and air conditioning / heat

  • Walking, climbing, squatting, stooping, bending, kneeling and reaching

  • Continuous motion without sitting (minimum of 2 hours)

  • Occasional lifting (minimum of 25lbs.)

  • Exposure to various cleaning solutions and sanitizers

  • Flexible work schedule

  • Overtime work on “as needed” basis

Machine / Equipment / Tools used

Dishwasher, food processor, steamers, ovens, microwave, knives, heat lamp, broilers, proof box, pot and pan sink, meat slicer, mixers, steam table, alto sham, fryolators, can opener, pots / pans, stoves, salamanders, hot box, potato peeler, buffalo chopper and other equipment
